Festival Series: Curled messy ponytail.

Saturday, 21 June 2014
Hey everyone! As it is summer and festival season is here I thought I would take the opportunity to do a festival series of posts maybe one each week or every other week with things like hairstyles, makeup, clothes and essentials. I will be attending Leeds Festival this year but only for the Friday however, I will tend to all of you that will be enduring full weekends where ever it may be.

So my first one is going to be this hair style. Its a quick and easy hairstyle and if you have been at a festival for more than a day it will be really easy to do without needing loads of things with you.
A lot of my hairstyles will be done using curly hair so if you don't have natural curls then you can curl them using a curling wand. My hair has a natural wave but for the curls I want I will be using the Babyliss Curling Wand. Disclaimer: These curling wands can get ridiculously hot so always make sure you use a heat protecting spray.

Just curl all of your hair whether you choose to do the curls towards or away from your hair it doesn't matter. Depending on how tight or loose you want your curls you can always run your fingers through your hair to drop the curls. Now all you need to do is tease the roots of your hair and tie it up into a ponytail. To mess things up abit just pull on the roots to loosen the ponytail then pull tight and keep on repeating this procedure until you are happy with how it looks.
To make this a little bit different all you need to do is grab a small section of hair from underneath your ponytail and wrap it around your bobble and secure with a hair grip. You can make this piece of hair as thick or thin as you like but it's nice to just have something different other than a bobble.

Another thing if you are a headband freak like me you can accessorise it with a quirky headband. These two are my favourite and don't forget to accessorise with some sunnies as well!

That is the completed look! I know it was simple and straightforward but I feel as though sometimes the simple things are forgotten about and can often look really good. Especially if you curl your hair for the first day of the festival because these curls last more than a day.

Watch out for more of the Festival Series! I also post more hairstyles and ideas on my Instagram so if you see one you like comment on it and I will put a tutorial on.
