The Cake'ole Skipton.

Saturday, 17 May 2014
Finally Skipton has something that is worth going to again and again. Despite recent charts where Skipton was placed number 1 in "The best place to live in the UK", there was never anything exciting happening around the town. However, a new cafe has exploded on to the scene and people cannot stop talking about it. When coming to Skipton you will realise that the town is flooded with tea rooms and cafes but none of them will ever live up to the fabulous effort that has been put into The Cake'ole. Opened in Craven Court, it's decor is a treat for the eyes and will still leave you finding new exciting things even when you leave. It is the perfect amount of quirk which is just what I love and it's clear that so much love and passion has been put into the shop.

Upon my arrival there was so many things for me to look at, but having seen the giant zebra coming out of the wall I thought it may be suitable to go keep him company. After looking at all the things on the menu I just wanted to try everything but with there being only me I figured I may look a little bit greedy and just went for a brownie and strawberry milkshake. Yes you may call me boring now but this was like no other strawberry milkshake and brownie. They were so rich in flavour and beautifully presented to me on a china plate.
After scoffing my brownie and drinking my shake I set to exploring the cafe. All the staff were so friendly and told me some stories about the decor. Individual letters spelling "The Cake'ole" were hung above all the cakes and each letter had been decorated by a different loved one as a memory of them. Like I said before I love quirk, but quirk with a background story is even better. I've never had so much fun in a cafe before. Everyone had big smiles on their faces and it is perfect to take children for a sweet treat. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are ever in Skipton and I will definitely be visiting a lot more!

If you are in Skipton and take a visit to The Cake'ole let me know about your experience!
I'll be back soon
